“I have felt cats rubbing their faces against mine and touching my cheek with claws carefully sheathed. These things, to me, are expressions of love.”
James Herriot
Exotic Shorthair and Persian Cats
Exotic Shorthair and Persian cats are quiet, sweet and loving, and become deeply attached to their owners. The Exotic Shorthair cat has been called the "lazy person's Persian” because they share the Persian cat's facial features but have a shorter coat that requires less grooming - a weekly brush is all that is needed to care for their coats. Exotic Shorthairs are docile, medium-sized cats that tend to develop strong bonds with their owners, get along with other pets and kids, and have sweet personalities. Although Exotic Shorthairs have relatively low energy levels and exercise needs, they love human company and are always curious about their surroundings, happily playing with you for hours.

The eyes have it!
Blue Eyes
Blue eyed cats are exceptionally beautiful, and we love them. Blue eyes are associated with white coats or the pointed colour pattern that are seen in Siamese cats. At least 10 cat breeds have eyes that are always blue, including the Balinese, Birman, Colourpoint Shorthair, Himalayan cat, Javanese, Ojos Azules, Ragdoll, Siamese, Snowshoe, and the Thai. Other breeds sometimes have blue eyes in addition to other colours, including the Japanese Bobtail, Khao Manee, Norwegian Forest Cat, Persian, Siberian, Tonkinese cats, Turkish Angora, and Turkish Van.
In Exotic Shorthairs, blue eyes are exceedingly rare. Most kittens are born with blue eyes, but these gradually change colour as the kitten grows up until they are their adult colour, which is usually copper. Many blue-eyed solid white cats are deaf (about 65% to 80%) in one of both ears. However, blue eyes seen in pointed breeds like the Siamese and Persians are not genetically associated with deafness. Non-white cats with blue eyes do not appear to have a higher risk of deafness than normal.
Odd Eyes
Very rarely, a cat may have one copper eye and one blue eye. This is known as complete heterochromia or odd eyes. The condition most commonly affects solid white cats but may be found in cats of any coat colour, although it is very rare. Heterochromia does not have any impact on a cat's ability to see. It does not seem to affect their hearing either.
Brown Eyes
Variations of brown eyes are common in Exotic Shorthair and Persian cats. The darkest eye color is copper, which is a brown color with undertones of reds and oranges.
